Nearby beaches include Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock, with a ferry service over the estuary to Padstow.

Polzeath is a very popular surfing beach, you can hire surf boards and wet suites and book a lesson. The rock pools are lovely for the little ones who want to hunt crabs and there are plenty of cafes and food outlets as well as shops for those buckets and spades etc
Daymer Bay is a safe spot for the little ones, as it is in the Estuary the sea tends to be calmer for paddling and there are lots of rock pools.
Rock is a centre for sailing and water sports, and from here you can catch a ferry over to Padstow
Padstow with its harbour and quaint back streets, a lovely day out. lots of eateries on offer. From simple fish and chips, and pasties to fine dining at Rick Steins.

Wadebridge, just a few minutes away has everything you need. Plenty of shops, Tesco, Co op, Lidl and Aldi. plus a selection of independent shops including butchers, bakers, chemists etc. There is a bank and bank machines, and a post office.
Closer to the cottage on the road into Rock, you will find a good selection of independent little shops including a news agent, general store, butchers, fish merchant, and a bakery
